I think that having the Final Examinations ending on the second last day of school is not a good idea.

Reason: Students need to go through the questions, mistakes and marks with the teachers. Since they won't be having the same subject teachers the following year, it will be a lot harder for them to discuss about their mistakes.

Suggestion: Final Examinations should end one week before school closes. :)

I feel the same way too ... but knowing children, after exam ended most of them ponteng sekolah cause no more studies and teachers need time to mark papers, some teachers may need more than a week to do marking. Normally students attendance drop drastically after exam and I think this is one of the reason why exams are schedule just before the school holidays start.:|

To Yan and Fauziah: The takwim is provided by the education department and we have to follow it. I think in previous years, there were a lot of complaints that exams end too early and children play truant after final exams. Therefore the exams now end on the last day of school. There are pros and cons to this. Last year teachers were given 1/2 weeks to mark and they had to key in the marks during the holidays. Parents can come collect the results after that and we normally will inform the children of the date. However any correction were done this year.:)

cheangcy, thanks for the info, normally I will personally go thru the exam papers with my kids. The only set back is the subjective paper such as penulisan, since I don't know how the marking was done. Anothing thing is, it would be nice if parents can meet the class teacher when collecting the exam results, can the school consider this.:)
